Andrew P. Scott is presently a photo editor at USA TODAY, in McLean, VA.
Born in Washington, D.C., and spending his childhood in Iowa, he joined the newspaper world at the age of 10, delivering The Ames Tribune and The Des Moines Register for several years before working as photographer for The Tribune when he was in high school.
A 1995 graduate of The University of Iowa, Scott spent three years as a mechanical engineering major before graduating with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in Political Science.
Prior to joining USA TODAY, he was a photographer and photo editor for ten years at The Dallas Morning News.
Before working in Dallas, he was a photographer for the Iowa City Press-Citizen, Hazleton (PA) Standard-Speaker, an intern for the Los Angeles Times and The Cleveland Plain Dealer, and covered eastern Iowa for the Associated Press.
