Our gnome visited the Lingotto shopping mall, which is a former factory where Fiats were made. Here he's standing on a ramp where they transported cars. He comes to the mall frequently for errands. There's an electronics store where we buy extra cell phone minutes for the nine DMN staffers covering the Games. (How did they ever cover the Olympics before email and cell phones?) We also make trips to the mall for quick lunches (pizza, salads, gelato) and provisions (laundry detergent, bottled water, snacks). It's a five-minute walk from our office, but it's a pain to go through security (we call it mag and bag). You have to take off your coat and walk through a metal detector. The security is much more relaxed than in Athens. Time to watch Chris Witty speed skating on TV. Ciao!
