I’m writing this on the train to Bardonecchia, the site of a snowboard competition I’m covering today. Time flies at the Olympics and there are never enough hours in the day to get everything done, so an open hour on the train is great to catch up. By now you have probably seen the opening ceremonies from Friday on TV. Initially we only had one photo pass for Smiley Pool, one of our photographers, but I was able to round up another one late in the day so I could go as well. Since Smiley was in the our official photo position, I was able to roam around the stadium during the ceremony. This image is from when the Italian team walked by during the parade of athletes, and with good luck, a man was waving an Italian flag in front of me. -Andy
