The opening ceremony is incredibly detailed, planned, rehearsed and choreographed. It is an incredible display of color, light, Olympic and national symbolism.  Above an Italian girl sings during the ceremony, standing on an open area in the stage that eventually held the athletes. After the ceremony we received a huge media guide book that breaks down every scene with intricate descriptions and drawings to describe each scene.  The amount of planning to put this all together is staggering. -Andy
